Abstract/Notes | Three geophysical fields (anomalous magnetic, exposure dose rate, and apparent resistance) were investigated by local fractal and two-dimensional wavelet analyses for ore prospectivity mapping (scale 1:25000). The study region is part of the Gazimuro-Zavodsky gold-polymetallic ore district (Transbaikalia, South-East Russia) and includes 9 recognized hypogene ore deposits and 40 ore occurrences of Au, Fe, Cu, Pb, W, Sb, As, boron, talc, and fluorite (skarn and hydrothermal formations related to felsic and mafic magmatism). The results show that fractal and wavelet analyses of the geophysical fields demonstrate a certain specialization in the delineation of different mineralization types. The best prospective efficiency (in terms of quality/cost) was achieved by integrating the six individual prospective maps using the ensemble approach. |
