Abstract/NotesThe schisto-crystalline Albères massif separates the Roussillon plain from Spanish Catalonia and forms the eastern terminus of the Pyrenean chain. The soils, marked by the nature of the bedrock, vary according to altitude, vegetation and even cultivation. After a brief presentation of the region's ecological conditions, this note briefly outlines the main characteristics of the different soil units encountered.
