Abstract/NotesConophytoll cylindricus, Collenia columnaris, Collenia symmetrica and Collenia undosa are reported from the dolomitic intercalations within the Mehdikhera Chertbreccia Formation, exposed in the Choral river valley near Barwah, in Khargoan District, Madhya Pradesh. There is a lack of consensus regarding the origin of this Formation and it has been considered to be equivalent of Bijawars. The present report of stromatolites conclusively points to its sedimentary origin and suggests a need for a reappraisal of the age.
