| Abstract/Notes | Previously poorly known Devonian actinocerids are described from Gedinnian (Early Devonian) strata of the Fukuji Formation, Gifu Prefecture, central Japan. They include two new species, Ormoceras japonicum and Metarmenoceras kameii. Two specimens of a probable new species of the family Ormoceratidae are also recorded and illustrated. This is the first detailed systematic report of actinocerids from Japan. |
