Abstract/Notes | The approximately planar complex molecule, [Cu(C18H12N2O3)(C5H5N)], contains one L 2− ligand (L 2− is the dianion of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde 2-hydroxybenzoylhydrazone), one Cu atom and one pyridine molecule. The Cu centre shows square-planar N2O2Cu coordination. The tridentate dianion has an intramolecular N...H—O hydrogen bond. Each pair of adjacent molecules is linked together by π–π stacking and Cu...N interactions, which lead to the existence of a dimer. Owing to C—H...O hydrogen bonds, these dimers are further assembled into a two-dimensional framework. |
