Abstract/Notes | A Rb–Sr whole-rock isochron age of 489 ± 14 Ma based on a half-life of 5.0 × 1010 years is obtained from deformed granites in north-central New Brunswick indicating a Lower Ordovician age for these rocks. The corresponding age using a half-life of 4.88 × 1010 years is 479 ± 14 Ma. The granite is consanguineous with felsic volcanic rocks of the Tetagouche Group. |
