| Abstract/Notes | The author reports the first pingos found in Ungava Peninsula, Quebec. The pingos, 15–30 m high, are open-system rock pingos built of very fractured schist and hornblende gabbro. At the time of observation, water was draining out of their slopes. Peat from the top of the smaller pingo was dated at 2880 ± 100 years BP. |
