| Abstract/Notes | This is the firsl reported findings of Mangano-columbite and Hingganite-(Yb) in Norway. Mn-columbite occurs in the extensive Li-pegmatite at Ågskardet, Northern Norway, - along with elbaite, spodumene, Iithiophilite, sicklerite, hureaulite and cookeite. Analysis shows a rather pure Mn-columbite, but with variable Nb/Ta content.
Hingganite-(Yb) was found in the feldspar quarry at Tangen, Kragerø, already in the 60-ties. It occurs as a chalcy pseudomorphic columnar mineral, up to 3 cm, in pure quartz. The material is usually contaminated by small amounls of kainosile-(Y). The IotaI REE is dominated by Yb and Y. The conlent of Ca suggest an appreciable minasgeraisite component. |
