Name:
Named in honor of Hermann Wilhelm Friedrich "Fritz" Heide (19 December 1891 - 17 December 1973), German meteoricist, Jena, in 1965. One area of his work was the question of why the largest meteorite impact craters did not produce meteorites, and whether very large meteorites could vaporize on impact.
